At every school stop, Emily Pilloton and/or Matthew Miller will give a presentation about what it means to join the Design Revolution. The presentation and discussion will include materials for college-level educators and students such as the Design Revolution Toolkit, a blueprint for designing for social justice. The presentation will include examples of Project H initiatives, as well as the background and tactics for using creative capital for social change. Some imperatives will include:
- How to engage with underserved communities as clients
- The importance of working locally first
- Why we need to design with, not for
- The difference between designing solutions instead of stuff
- How design thinking is an approach to everything
- How to work like a designer, but think like a jack-of-all-trades
- Why talk is not enough, and how to take action
